FROM THE COACH
August 19, 2008
To the players and parents of the Rookie 49ers Football team:
I have to see I am pleased to see the progress developing in our players.. We have already come a long way and I feel confident going into the round robin. Wednesday’s scrimmage with Hilmar should show us where we need to focus our efforts on Thursday and Friday.
In addition to our “From the Coach” letter, we also have a great resource online for you to stay up to date on the latest. Just visit www.turlockyouthfootball.com , click on the 49ers and then rookies. I have already been submitting information almost daily to the site. All “From the Coach” letters will also be posted there. So you can see them all in case you missed one. Special thanks to Dave Truax for maintaining such an outstanding web site for us.
Don’t worry, we should receive our game pants prior to the first game. If not, I will make the call at the end of practice as to the exact uniform we will wear for round robin. Talk to your player. In addition, please have your players name put on the back of their game uniform as soon as possible.
Please buy black socks for your son’s game uniform. The socks should at least cover the calves, but do not have to go to the pants..
Before the round-robin on Saturday, make sure your player has had a good breakfast and a light lunch to eat before we play. Be sure to be at the field at 1:30 pm. Weigh in is at 2pm sharp. The first game starts at 3pm and the games last until about 5. There will not be time between games to eat.
If your player will be late to round robin, please call me on my cell at 209-410-3332.
Next Monday we will have practice. This will be the last Monday practice with the exception of pictures.
**** Please see the handout provided by our team mom. It has directions and times to all the games.
Next Week:
Monday- Full pads with practice pants and practice jersey
